Honey is the highly anticipated, collaborative project that sees Katy B team up with some of the hottest artists and producers around.

Literally running the gamut from the underground to the top of the charts, features include Major Lazer, Craig David, Four Tet, Floating Points, J Hus, Wilkinson, Jamie Jones, Sasha Keable, Chris Lorenzo, Novelist, MssingNo and many others. Also included is a brand new and unheard version of Katy’s recent #1 UK single ‘Turn The Music Louder (Rumble)’ with KDA.

As Katy wrote to beats submitted by some of the coolest producers in the game, selected by her and long time collaborator and Rinse founder Geeneus, Honey began taking on an identity of its own: a super-diverse yet still perfectly coherent 13-track snapshot of the state of the underground in 2016, a series of upcoming Honey UK club nights, and a bold a statement of Katy as a songwriter and performer as anything in her catalogue.

In a sense that's Katy all over: whether in her songwriting or her career, the desire to dance and to get other people dancing has always been impulsive, but it's consistently led on to creativity that has a whole lot more substance and lasting resonance. There is no contradiction between her being a proper pop star – with a Mercury nomination for debut album On a Mission and an Ivor Novello nomination for her songwriting – and being a musician completely immersed in the underground.

Typically for Katy, on Honey the lines blur between the fun and the serious, the social and the introspective, the euphoric and the poignant. From the neo-soul of the KAYTRANADA-produced title track, to the eerie electronic balladry of Mr Mitch collaboration ‘Heavy’, to huge tunes with superstars like Major Lazer, Craig David and Wilkinson on ‘Who Am I’ and ‘So Far Away’, to irresistibly uplifting club smasher ‘Dark Delirium’ with Jamie Jones and Kate Simko, to the leftfield majesty of ‘Water Rising’ with MssingNo, to the poignant Hannah Wants-produced ‘Dreamers’, a song about the sense of community both Katy and Hannah felt within the Ibiza dance scene – every track has the multiple levels of meaning and emotion that Katy has built into her songs since she was a teenager.

“This project means a lot to me because I got to work with so many artists that I respect so highly”, Katy summarizes. “Writing it was so natural and I hope people enjoy listening to it as much as I did making it.”
