Women in Policing event to culminate at Hamilton City Council

An event to mark the 75th Jubilee of Women in the New Zealand Police will culminate with a Mayoral Reception at Hamilton City Council on Monday, 11 July.

The event includes the carrying of a ceremonial baton from the Hamilton Police headquarters and police staff march down Victoria St, commencing at 8.35am and arriving at Civic Square shortly before 9am.

Mayor Julie Hardaker will greet the assembled police staff and VIPs, before a formal event inside the Council’s ground floor Reception Lounge from 9.10am.

The event includes speeches from Mayor Hardaker, Waikato Police District Commander Greg Nichols, and two of the region’s pioneering sworn officers – Gladys O’Brien and Marilyn Stobie.

The event will conclude at 10.10am.
