Stirling Sports makeover - expands offering to become "stable of labels"

Since opening in Cromwell in 2008, Stirling Sports has been right behind the “good sports” of Central Otago. 

Having operated as a traditional sports shop, the store’s now closed for a makeover – reopening on Wednesday morning (October 12) with a totally new look and a new range of sports gear.

“We’ll continue to be where sports fanatics want to shop, while we also tap into the growing ‘fashion meets sport’ market,” says co-owner Vikki Dardis.
 

“In addition to ‘boots, balls and bags’ and the latest in high-tech shoes and footwear, we’ll be offering trendy and aspirational sportswear and the hottest casual labels. 

“We’re lucky to be part of a nationwide group which enables us to bring the latest line-up to our local market. If you don’t keep up with the market then you’re not keeping up with the game.”

Stirling Sports’ national Franchise Manager Geoff Young says the company’s product philosophy is “elevate to separate”, meaning Stirling Sports is always looking to provide something better and different to make it the sports fashion leader.

“We’re committed to offering a range of gear that’s innovative, on-trend and highly desirable,” he says. “That’s why we stock exclusive ranges from top brands such as Nike, adidas, Converse and Lorna Jane, offering the best in terms of sports science while also carrying a certain look.”

The change will mean a new focus on casual apparel and footwear, women’s gym and activewear, but Stirling Sports Cromwell will still have the latest in running, performance sport and football gear.

“It’s really exciting for my husband and co-owner Ferg and myself,” says Vikki. “Not only will we have exclusive product that’s unavailable anywhere else in Central Otago, but our goal is to provide a world-class retail experience inspired by sport and executed with style.”
