Glenorchy’s Mrs Woolly’s Campground is opening for the season on Saturday 22 October, just in time for Labour Weekend. The beautifully-situated campground is sited with views of both the Richardson and Humboldt Mountains and is a convenient place to stay the night when coming to the head of the lake for jazz on Saturday or the “Getting Outdoors for Summer”-themed Great Glenorchy Getaway Day being held at Mrs Woolly’s General Store on Sunday 23 October.

Mrs Woolly’s Campground opened last year after with a fresh new shared kitchen, showers, bathrooms, laundry facilities and and visitor amenities including a children’s playground. Conveniently-located adjacent to Mrs Woolly’s General Store, Mrs Woolly’s Campground offers 36 unpowered, open-air sites for tenting, campervans or caravans, and three glamping tents for those who like to sleep in style.

Three glamping tents are now available at Mrs Woolly’s Campground

“The glamping tents have been so popular that this year we’ve added a third one,” explained Debbie Crompton, Mrs Woolly’s Campground general manager.

Glamping tent guests can choose between a king, queen or two twin-sized beds, and each is equipped with all the comforts of home including bed linens, towels, sheepskin rugs on the floor, solar lighting, and an outdoor table and chairs. As a special treat, each glamping booking includes hot coffee and freshly based pastries delivered to the tent each morning.

Being immediately adjacent to the Store has its benefits, including ready access to fresh produce and groceries, healthy takeaway meals, bikes for hire and a wide range of gear guests and visitors might need when hiking, biking and exploring the beautiful trails and sights that surround Glenorchy.

Mrs Woolly’s Campground reservations are recommended but not required. Call 021 0889 4008 or email info@MrsWoollysCampground.co.nz.
