The iconic Remarkables Market commences its seventh summer season this Saturday (October 22 2016) from 9am until 2pm, set against a backdrop of incredible Remarkables Mountain views.

Remarkables Market is a popular place for locals and visitors to start their Saturday morning, enjoying fresh coffee, brunch or lunch in a friendly atmosphere.

Situated between Remarkables Park Town Centre’s expanding entertainment precinct and opposite the new Ramada Queenstown Remarkables Park hotel, the market hosts stallholders in an original red barn and surrounding grounds.

Local artisans present a wide range of gifts including wine barrel platters, jewellery, hand crafted candles, throws, artwork and children’s clothing. High quality regional in-season fruit and vegetables, meats, fish, organic free range eggs, cheese, baked goods and chutneys also feature.

“We’ve got a bumper opening day planned and locals can expect to see stalls they know and love, and some exciting new products, goodies and gifts. Visitors will be pleased to see a varied and extended choice of tempting food stalls too,” said Market Manager Sherryn Smith.

There are typically more than 50 stalls each week and the vast range of goods on offer reaches 80-plus stalls in the busy lead up to Christmas.

First time stallholders include Cardrona Distillery, Laaluns Garden’s succulents, Merino Frank socks, Mud & Cloth ceramics, traditional Hungarian Chimney Cakes, Nikki’s Celebration Cakes, Globe Fest’s innovative inflatable couches, Puppy Love’s pet food, Wee & We Wander’s baby clothing and 2B’s natural insect repellents.

Returning businesses include The Green Juicing Company, European Bakery, LussoTOSQ WinesThe Barn, Stir Tea, Whitestone Cheese,European Bakery, True Holistic Beauty, Melt Candles, Cardrona Merino, Nevis Gardens, Gibbston Valley Cheese, Stewart Island Smoked Salmon, Zamora, Traditional Heritage Preserves, John’s Joint plants, Freeway Orchard, Cherry Tree Farm, Bacon Butty Bloke, Taste & Savour, Church Road Industries, DC Wines and The Woven.

“Stallholders often use the Market as a platform to get the community’s reaction to new products,” said Sherryn. “We encourage market goers to meet the makers of one-off art pieces, get tips from seasoned plant, flower and vegetable growers and talk beer styles with craft brewers.”

Taking place every Saturday until April 15 2017, the Remarkables Market showcases local musicians for entertainment and has ample free car parking. The market celebrates being family-friendly with a large sandpit, plenty of toys and an enhanced children’s zone to be revealed in the coming markets.
