New Zealand’s leading bus adventure has won accolades over the ditch, being awarded Best Transport Provider NZ at the Golden Backpacks held in Australia last Thursday night.

The Golden Backpacks are the most established awards dedicated to the independent travel sector, showing off the best in adventure and backpacking. 

For the ninth year in a row Kiwi Experience beat other transport providers to take away “Best Transport NZ”, as voted by consumers.

Ben Lane, GM of Kiwi Experience says: “The fact that the Golden Backpack Awards are decided by travellers themselves is a great compliment. Feedback from customers suggests the reason we're preferred is because of the flexibility our hop on - hop off product offers, and the opportunity to meet other like-minded travellers.  Many of our travellers are solo, and find it a great asset having our driver guides on hand to book their experiences as they travel. It’s so much more than an A-B transport offering – it’s a complete experience. 

Eco-travel is increasingly important when youth travellers are selecting a transport provider.  This is an increasing focus of the Kiwi Experience business, says Ben - “our customers are increasingly environmentally and socially aware.  We take the opportunity to educate and encourage our customers to keep NZ beautiful– leaving nothing but footprints on the beaches and national parks we visit.  We also give them the opportunity to participate in projects such as the Kiwi Encounter in Rotorua as they travel."
 
Sustainability is an important part of the Kiwi Experience business - with a modern, fuel efficient fleet, and SAFED trained drivers, the company is activity reducing our carbon footprint.  
 
As a result of its sustainability efforts – Kiwi Experience is also currently a finalist in the NZI Sustainable Business Network Awards.
