Huawei’s “A Step Ahead” global launch event held November 4th, 2016 in Munich, Germany marked the international debut of the Huawei Fit, a remarkable new device powered by Firstbeat analytics. Introduced as the New Style of Fitness, the Huawei Fit promises to bridge the gap between smartwatch and fitness tracker. The device  offers a host of multi-sport and activity tracking capabilities with the added benefit of continuous heart rate monitoring.

The device marks the first collaboration between global consumer technology powerhouse Huawei and Firstbeat, the industry’s leading provider of physiological analytics for health, fitness, and performance.
The result of this collaboration is a device capable of revealing the user’s real fitness level in terms of VO2max, analyzing the impact of individual training sessions, tracking recovery status, providing real-time exercise guidance, and producing highly-personalized training plans based on typical running targets from 5km to marathon distances.
Firstbeat is also responsible for translating data from the Huawei Fit’s continuous heart rate monitor into calories burned. As a result, the device offers an accurate calorie count regardless of user activities throughout the day.
"Huawei Fit is the next evolution of Huawei wearables, combining learnings from products including the Huawei Watch," said Zhengdong Zhu, president of Huawei Device USA. "We designed Huawei Fit to be the perfect fitness companion, with accurate tracking technology for fitness, heart and sleep. With a long-lasting battery, Huawei Fit is ready for anything and suitable for every body."
“The ability of the Huawei Fit to reveal your personal fitness level in terms of VO2max unlocks a host of possibilities,” says Aki Pulkkinen, Head of Firstbeat’s Consumer Products Division. “In addition to being able to actually see your fit you are today and how your fitness changes over time, it offers context for examining the the impact of your activities and can help determine what types of exercise are right for you. This is how we help people reach their health and performance goals.”
The inclusion of Firstbeat’s automatic VO2max fitness level detection technology places the Huawei Fit device in the conversation with a rapidly growing number of fitness trackers capable of actually reporting user fitness.

Huawei Fit is now available in the U.S. on Amazon, Best Buy, and Newegg for $129.99.
