‘Cease Fire’ is the new stand-alone single by Thurston Moore. An anti-gun song, ‘Cease Fire’ is a response to the current unchecked climate of violence that besets many parts of the world, whether large scale in war, genocide and mass killings or individual senseless acts of bloodshed.

“Guns are designed to kill and we, as non-violent human beings, are against the killing of any person or animal. The song is also about the power of love, in all its freedom of choice. A power that no gun can extinguish as love will rule always. Melt down your guns and kiss your neighbour.” – Thurston Moore

Recorded in London last year (with bassist Deb Googe, guitarist James Sedwards and guest drummer Jem Doulton), ‘Cease Fire’ is the very latest new studio material from Thurston Moore -- but it definitely won’t be the last! From Sonic Youth (the band he founded in 1980), to his solo work ranging from 1995's Psychic Hearts album, to the Beck-produced Demolished Thoughts album of 2011, as well as his myriad collaborations and completely outside-the-margin recordings on a litany of labels (as detailed in author Nick Soulsby's new investigative book We Sing A New Language - The Oral Discography of Thurston Moore), Thurston Moore’s life in music continues to be unbridled, exploratory and earnestly principled.

The Thurston Moore Group -- featuring the line-up of Steve Shelley (Sonic Youth, Sun Kil Moon), Deb Googe (My Bloody Valentine, Primal Scream) and James Sedwards (N?ught, Chrome Hoof) -- commence touring Springtime 2017 in USA, UK, Europe, Asia and beyond.
