Footballers from top European clubs are among the growing list of elite athletes to make the most of the exceptional training facilities at Gloria Sports Arena.

The state-of-the-art training complex in Belek on the Turkish Riviera attracted hundreds of elite athletes from around the globe across a huge spectrum of sports in preparation for the Rio Olympics last year with 27 medals won at both the Olympics and Paralympics.

With success at the 2016 European Aquatic Championships, held in London, where 15 medals were secured by competitors and also at the European Athletics Championship in Amsterdam, it was further evidence of the positive impact of training at Gloria Sports Arena.

But the first quarter of 2017 has started in similar style with Romanian giants Steau Bucharest and Russian outfit FC Rostov recently taking part in training camps. Previous visitors have also included the Turkish national squad, Hertha Berlin and Besiktas, while Dutch giants Ajax and German powerhouses SV Hamburg took advantage of the facilities with a friendly match at the 1,800-seater stadium on one of the two FIFA-standard pitches.

The 50m euro complex - with a 100-room hotel on the site - offers an extraordinary wealth of facilities with more than 50 sports catered for across a wide spectrum including football, swimming, athletics, rugby, field hockey, badminton, basketball, beach volleyball, fencing, futsal, handball, table tennis, archery and volleyball.

Chinese and German national swimming teams are among a long list of those which have made the most of the extensive water sports set-up with the 10-lane 50m outdoor pool, diving facilities and water polo pool all reaching Olympic standards. In addition, a five-lane 50m indoor pool, six-lane (25m) outdoor pool and rehabilitation pools are also available.

And the IAAF-certified, fully-equipped athletics track and field has been the base for national teams from Germany, Denmark, Austria among many others to start their preparations for the biggest events in the sport this season.

The indoor multi-purpose sports hall, which offers versatile seating to accommodate spectators, has hosted top-level events, including basketball, handball, volleyball, dance sport and boxing, while the sports studios are also there to use for weightlifting, martial arts, spinning, ballet and aerobics.
If golf is your sport, then the two 18-hole championship courses, outstanding practice facilities and a nine-hole academy course are just a few minutes down the road at Gloria Golf Club.

The venue has also proved itself capable of hosting big events as the world's top triathletes descend on the venue for the annual Gloria Ironman competition. The third edition of the event: Gloria Ironman 70.3, takes place on October 15, 2017.

Part of the Gloria Hotels & Resorts brand, athletes and competitors can get the very best from the Sports Medicine & Athletic Performance Centre which provides the most modern rehabilitation and analysis to aid recovery and further improve physical performance.
