Whangarei, New Zealand - July 4th, 2017 - The International Rugby Club wants to acknowledge the outstanding spirit and dedication of the Red Army by inviting them to join their club….for free.
IRC Club Captain Gus Collins, says that all the fans he has come across around the country have been incredible.

“The sea of red that’s swept New Zealand has just been outstanding to see, hear and be part of. They are exceptional fans, and having been amongst them is awesome, they set a pretty good benchmark”.

The fervour and enthusiasm from the Red Army is one of the key reasons why the International Rugby Club exists says the IRC’s Chief Entertainment Officer, Tristan Tuckey.

“These fans epitomize what we are striving to achieve with the IRC in connecting global rugby communities. Four different nations come together every four years to create a red army of support. Win or lose, they sing together and support as one… and they wear their colours everywhere! It has been an absolute pleasure to have them in NZ.”

The IRC has had the Red Army join them at their Guinness World Record attempt at the largest haka in Rotorua, their temporary rugby club campervan carparks and rugby club members homes throughout New Zealand. There are great stories of friendship and manaakitanga being demonstrated with good rugby folk like Sandra Ioane, who took the IRC’s first campervanner into her family home - containing two rather notable players, Rieko and Akira. Then there are the stats - with the Red Army’s support, the IRC have raised over $20,000 for club rugby from their various initiatives.

The International Rugby Club are an online club which benefits other clubs by connecting the global rugby community through good times, goodwill and authentic experiences.
