GLENORCHY, NEW ZEALAND, 9 October 2017 – Glenorchy’s Mrs Woolly’s Campground is gearing up for summer and looking forward to welcoming its campers, glampers and campervans for its third season beginning on Friday 20th October, for Labour Weekend 2017.

Mrs Woolly’s Campground is set on a scenic setting cradled by the Richardson and Humboldt Mountains in the heart of the picturesque town of Glenorchy, a stunning 45-minute drive along the shoreline of Lake Wakatipu from Queenstown. With 37 unpowered sites for tents, campervans and RVs, the campground offers a wide range of amenities including a well-maintained kitchen, barbeques, refrigerators, picnic benches, toilets, coin-operated showers and laundry facilities, and a children’s play area.

The campground also offers three glamping tents for those guests who prefer the “comforts of home.” Guests can choose between a king, queen or two twin-sized beds, and each is equipped with bed linens, towels, sheepskin rugs on the floor, solar lighting, an outlet for charging small electronic devices and an outdoor table and chairs. To top it off, glamping tent guests will find hot coffee and fresh pastries delivered to their campsite each morning.

“As thousands of Kiwi families pack their camping gear in readiness for summer getaways, Mrs Woolley’s Campground is expecting their busiest-ever season,” said General Manager, Peter Kerr.

“The appeal of our head of the lake location together with our reputation for providing genuine Kiwi hospitality is, we believe, the biggest influence on increased summer season bookings and demand this year compared to the same period last year.”

Mrs Woolly’s Campground is conveniently located adjacent to Mrs Woolly’s General Store, which offers fresh produce and groceries, healthy takeaway meals, bikes for hire and a wide range of gear guests and visitors might need when hiking, biking and exploring the beautiful trails and sights that surround Glenorchy.

To provide a new level of service to campground guests, the check-in desk will be located at the entrance off Oban Street, where coffee, fresh pastries and takeaway foods will serve early birds starting at 8am. Co-located with Mrs Woolly’s Head of the Lake Activities Booking Centre, guests can now grab a coffee and book their day’s outdoor adventures—such as jet boats, horse riding, heli-tours, kayaking, 4WD trip or track transport—when they arrive at the campground or first thing in the morning.

Mrs Woolly’s Campground reservations are recommended for the high season, but not required. Call 021 0889 4008 or email info@MrsWoollysCampground.co.nz <mailto:info@mrswoollyscampground.co.nz>.
