Bevan Docherty has this morning won the ITU World Cup Triathlon in Edmonton, Canada.

The victory is the 7th ITU World Cup or World Champs Series title in the career of Docherty, to go with many more podiums and of course his silver medal in Athens and bronze medal at the Beijing Olympic Games.

Docherty ran superbly to leave a strong field in his wake, including Olympic gold medalist Simon Whitfield (CAN), ITU World Cup winner Hunter Kemper (USA) and a host of up and coming triathletes from around the world.

A full release with comment from Docherty and results will follow.
