The final countdown is on to the 18th annual Mizuno Taupo Half Marathon, which is being held this Sunday 7th August 2011.

“Registration numbers are looking good and expected to be around the 2,500 mark,” says Event Director Wayne Reardon. “Rain, hail or shine, we always get a great turnout - the people and the atmosphere is what makes this such an iconic event,” he says.

Registrations will be available online at www.taupohalfmarathon.org.nz up until Wednesday 3rd August. Late Registrations will be available for runners and walkers on Saturday 6th August at the Great Lake Centre, where runners and walkers check in and pick up their registration packs for Sunday.

Following up the Mizuno Taupo Half Marathon is the Mizuno Off-road Half and Quarter Marathons being held on Saturday 3rd September. These off-road events start and finish in Kinloch and travel along the W2K track. The Quarter Marathon will make up one of the four events in a new challenge – TryTaupo4, a series for those wanting to get off the couch and get active.
