Taking inspiration from ayurvedic and traditional Chinese and Indian medicine, P&G Beauty scientists utilised the revered ancient Cassia ingredient and its botanical prowess to create the unique Pantene Pro-V Nature Fusion collection.“Rather than just relying on the plant’s extracts, we identified the exact part of the plant to deliver a benefit to hair,” says Dr Jeni Thomas, P&G Scientist.
With its pale yellow flowers and aromatic bark, the Cassia bush boasts a rich history in traditional Indian and Chinese ayurvedic medicine, prized for its detoxifying and purifying properties which lend protection and strength to the human body.
Clever science – and beautiful hair – has long been associated with Pantene. In 1947, the world’s first vitamin hair tonic based on Panthenol was launched in Europe. Formulated by Dr Gustav Erlemann, famous for uncovering vitamin E’s anti -aging skin care benefits, Erlemann discovered that Panthenol could also work wonders on the hair, improving its health, strength and elasticity. Code-named ‘B-Pantene’, after the vitamin that is still at the heart of its formula today, the Pantene Hair Tonic was born.
