The Mizuno Off-road Half Marathon this Saturday 3 September provides runners and walkers with spectacular views of the lake and mountains from the iconic W2K off-road track, which runs from Kinloch to Whakaipo Bay.

The off-road provides a half marathon and quarter marathon (10.5km) option for runners and walkers.  The half kicks off at 9am and the quarter kicks off approximately 30 minutes later.  A great range of spot prizes will be up for grabs for those that stay for prize giving at 1.30pm following the event.

Runners and walkers can still enter online at www.taupohalfmarathon.org.nz up until the end of Wednesday 31 August.  Late entries will also be available on Friday between 4pm and 8pm at the Great Lake Centre in Tongariro Street, Taupo.

The off-road event complements the Taupo Mizuno On-road Half Marathon held the first weekend of August.  It was introduced to the events calendar three years ago due to the growing popularity of off-road events.   It also makes up the third event in the 63.3 Challenge – three Taupo half marathons in three months.

Proceeds from the Mizuno Off-road will go towards the maintenance of the W2K track and to the Kinloch Communication Association for the development of the Whangamata Stream Track.
