Visitors arriving in New Zealand this month will be inundated by a sea of Kiwi women dressed in black - what they don’t yet know, is that this isn’t necessarily a show of support for our team. A nationwide survey released today confirms Kiwi women’s long-standing love affair with black clothes, with 69% saying they wear black five to seven times a week and 86% stating they wear black more than any other colour.

Of the women surveyed, versatility was the number one reason for wearing black and 80% said they believe black flatters their figures.

Persil Spokesperson, Georgia Rogers says, “The survey results confirm what we’ve always suspected; Kiwi women have a unique relationship with black clothing.

Persil recognises that black clothes are always in style and are regularly worn by women in New Zealand, so we’re pleased to announce the launch of NEW Persil Black Wash – a product we specifically developed to protect black clothing and help keep it really black”, explains Ms Rogers.

The survey results also show that one quarter of New Zealand women go as far as delaying a wash in order to keep their black clothing looking black for longer. Persil Black Wash means  you can wash clothes as much as you like thanks to its gentle formula, but it’s also tough on stains delivering a top performance clean every time.

With Persil Black Wash, women can now keep their much-loved black essentials each season without having to re-purchase new items simply due to washing.

Whether chosen for its slimming effect, its versatility, or as a statement of national pride, women can continue to regularly wear their favourite black items - and keep them really black, thanks to Persil Black Wash.
Available in supermarkets nationwide in October from $11.23.
