New Zealand designers celebrate a world first with Deutz
Deutz Marlborough Cuvée is proud to announce the release of the limited edition Deutz Designer Series.
Deutz has teamed up with New Zealand fashion designer favourites Yvonne Bennetti, Cybèle and Kate Sylvester to create the innovative Deutz Designer Series, a limited edition range of designer Deutz piccolos. The design partnership with three premiere New Zealand fashion designers is a world first for Deutz, which has homes in both France and New Zealand.
The Deutz Designer Series celebrates 20 years of the multi-award winning méthode traditionnelle, a rich history that began when the House of Deutz in Champagne, France chose the premium vineyards in Marlborough to carry its name. To this day Deutz remains the only Champagne house to have imparted such an honour.
Deutz winemaker Julia O’Connell is proud to be one of only a handful of women in the world to make premium méthode Traditionnelle.
“In the same way that these three fashion designers are celebrated New Zealand innovators, Deutz Marlborough Cuvée is recognized as a local success story and is synonymous with fashion, sophistication and style,” says Ms O’Connell.
Deutz Marlborough Cuvée enjoys supporting and celebrating New Zealand’s fashion industry and as the country’s top selling premium méthode traditionnelle; the Deutz Designer Series is an innovative and lively way to bring this passion to life.
Yvonne Bennetti agrees, “this was the perfect opportunity to bring together two of my favourite things - fashion creativity and celebratory bubbles! I wanted my Deutz piccolo to feel ‘Exotic’ but with a touch of glamour too.”
For Cybèle, it was all about the chance to design on an entirely new medium, “designing a Deutz piccolo was a completely new and exciting project. I wanted to keep the label bold and textural, tying in with my summer collection, ‘Utopia’.”
Kate Sylvester explains her approach to the design, “our chain design is a modern take on the traditional three-strand pearl necklace and is featured in our current summer collection ‘Royally Screwed’. Like Deutz, the chain’s design is grounded in history, but feels totally contemporary.”
The seductive aromas and lingering flavours of Deutz Marlborough Cuvée can now be experienced in unique designer fashion with the Deutz Designer Series piccolos, available mid October 2008 from leading bars, restaurants and liquor retailers.
