Battle on for NZ's Favourite Salon
The battle of the salons is about to heat up, with the launch of Salon Finder's inaugural 'New Zealand's Favourite Salon' competition on May 14.
Salon Finder, a free iPhone app that helps customers find, rate and review hair, nail, cosmetic and beauty salons and spas is on the search for New Zealand's best salon, as voted by their loyal customers.
Salon Finder co-founder Chris D'Aguiar-Sanders says that the competition is a great way for people to spread the word about their favourite salons and spas. Users can also win some fabulous prizes including a luxury weekend getaway in Rotorua and weekly giveaways on the Facebook page.
"My wife Rachael and I created the Salon Finder app as a way of reviving the relationship between customers and a trusted salon. A salon isn't just a place you go to get pampered, but to have a laugh, catch up on news and gossip and relax in a safe, beautiful and inviting environment.
"We want customers to tell us about their favourite salons that offer that community feel. An outstanding salon can make you feel like a million bucks long after you walk out the door, and leave you impatient for the next visit."
iPhone, iPad and iPod touch owners can download Salon Finder free from the Apple store and start using it immediately to locate, rate and review salons all over NZ.
To enter the competition, salons must be registered on Salon Finder (a basic listing is free). Customers who have downloaded the free app can then search for the salon and tap on the heart icon to 'favourite' the salon. Each 'favourite' equals to one vote. The salon with the most favourites by the end of the competition period will be crowned winner.
New Zealand's Favourite Salon will win a luxury getaway for two in Rotorua including a lakeview room at the Novotel, pampering spa treats at Polynesian Spa and a 12-month coaching and mentoring package from Worldwide Salon Marketing and The Salon Coach Staff, plus a feature story in an industry magazine. The total prize package is worth $15,000.
Customers who have the app will also have a chance to win the same luxury Rotorua holiday, and other goodies via the Facebook page. D'Aguiar-Sanders says the competition is open to any salon, beauty clinic or spa - big or small.
"Everyone has the same chance to win, no matter where you are based in NZ. So I would encourage people to start actively using the app to rate and review their favourite salons. Help us find and crown New Zealand's next top salon!"
Chris and Rachael D'Aguiar-Sanders are veterans of the beauty industry. Dubbed the 'Salon Saviours', the couple has travelled the world coaching and mentoring salon owners in New Zealand, Australia, the UK and Ireland. Rachael has a background in beauty therapy and along with Chris, has run popular Auckland Central salon D'Aguiar: hair.skin.nails on Symonds St for the past nine years. They sold the salon this year to focus on Salon Finder and their international salon mentoring business.
