blueseventy, a company known for their leading technology in open water swimming and triathlon products, cemented their position in the pool market recently with the accumulation of three world records in quick succession during the Russian and
Swedish legs of the FINA World Cup meets by young Cameron van den Burgh, of South Africa, who wore the blueseventy nero comp swimskin.

In Moscow, Cameron van den Burgh not only broke the world record in the 50 meter short course men’s breaststroke in 26.08 seconds, but he also smashed the world record in the 100 meter event by 0.59 seconds. In Stockholm, the 20 year-old stunned audiences as he broke his own three-day-old 50m breaststroke record for a second time to become the first person to touch in under 26 seconds with an amazing time of 25.94.

Van den Burgh, who is not sponsored by blueseventy, has the choice to use any brand’s suit in competition. His time in the 100m breast event of 56.88 seconds breaks the six year-old record and marked the first world record by a pool athlete for
blueseventy.

“We are absolutely thrilled with both the success of Cameron and the nero comp.” says Dean Jackson, blueseventy’s Global Sales & Marketing Manager.

"Over the extremely short amount of time it has been on the market, the nero has helped break multi-national records, make Olympic team dreams come true as well as being worn by a gold medalist in Beijing, so it was a natural progression for
someone to break a world record in it. We have no doubt we will see many more such successes in the future.”

This is an incredible milestone for the 19 year-old New Zealand based company, which, only 8 months ago had just swimmers from the triathlon world in their swimskins. The blueseventy nero comp, which was approved by FINA a year
ago, has been in hot demand since its inception, with sales of the product now reaching thousands of units consistently each month.

The small Kiwi company’s achievements have recently been the subject of incorrect reports regarding the swimskin’s legality.

“The blueseventy nero is 100% backed by FINA,” says Roque Santos, head of swimming for blueseventy.

“Some swimmers have been told the blueseventy is illegally buoyant but that is just not the case. To be FINA approved, the suit – which is not a wetsuit - gets rigorously tested by the prestigious international federation and they are very particular
about what products meet their non-buoyancy standards.”

blueseventy, aptly named due to 70% of the earth being covered in water, is a company that is growing exponentially and is currently the most popular swimming brand in the triathlon market globally.
