A national wildcard competition will give talented Kiwis a second chance to prove themselves as head and shoulders above the rest, in TVNZ's highly anticipated new show New Zealand's Got Talent.

An initiative from Head & Shoulders - the World's #1 Anti-Dandruff Shampoo* and a sponsor of New Zealand's Got Talent - the national wildcard competition will give those who missed their chance at the initial auditions a second chance to make it into the show, in the hopes of being named the ultimate winner of New Zealand's Got Talent.

The competition, open to all New Zealanders wanting to showcase their talent, will be run online and also at two mall events in Auckland and Christchurch.

The lucky winner of the wildcard competition will get to perform in a semi-finals episode as one of the 30 semi-finalists. They could make it as far as the top 12 if they are voted through by the public.

Head & Shoulders' sponsorship of New Zealand's Got Talent will also feature the brand's new ambassador, highly acclaimed ballet dancer Abigail Boyle.

A member of the Royal New Zealand Ballet since 2005, Boyle has received critical acclaim for her performances and most recently starred in leading roles in the Royal New Zealand Ballet season of NYC - Three Short Ballets from The Big Apple.

Boyle, who will attend the New Zealand's Got Talent national wildcard competitions in Christchurch and Auckland, is well placed to inspire and excite Kiwis to showcase their diversity and let their talent shine.

"I am thrilled to front the campaign for the Head & Shoulders sponsorship of New Zealand's Got Talent and can't wait to witness the many and varied talents of my fellow Kiwis," says Boyle.

"As a professional dancer I know how much it takes to get to the top of your game, so I'm excited at being given the chance to watch some of the talented Kiwis taking part in the auditions."

P&G spokesperson, Lisa Cunningham, says Head & Shoulders is proud to be a sponsor of New Zealand's Got Talent and to provide a platform for, confident Kiwis to shine.

"We believe Head & Shoulders is an ideal sponsor for New Zealand's Got Talent; the brand really gives people the confidence to perform at their best, whatever their talent may be," says Cunningham.

"We are also thrilled to have Abigail Boyle on board with us as Head & Shoulders brand ambassador. Abigail is a huge star in her own right and is the perfect person to embrace, celebrate and get excited about other talented Kiwis."

New Zealand's Got Talent is New Zealand's biggest talent show and searches for talented Kiwis from all walks of life - solo acts, group performances, singers, dancers, magicians, circus and stunt acts, instrumentalists, comedians, novelty acts, animal acts, child performers and more. Whether amateur or professional, the doors are open to any one of any age to enter the competition.
