Thousands of New Zealand women have turned their New Year’s resolutions into positive dreams, goals and aspirations and in doing so have helped My Special K raise $10,000 for charity Dress For Success.

The funds have been raised by My Special K donating $1 for every positive goal declared on its website. They will help the charity support more than 100 New Zealand women in getting their lives back on track.

Dress for Success and My Special K joined forces to encourage women to focus on positive aspirations and what they want to ‘gain’ in 2013, rather than negative New Year’s resolutions and what they need to give up. The campaign aimed to inspire confidence, success, self-assurance, strength, happiness and positive thinking among women across the nation.

To inspire them towards an optimistic way of thinking, the My Special K ‘Declare your Gain’ campaign pledged to donate $1 to the charity for every positive thought, aspiration or goal declared at myspecialk.co.nz during January. The donation amount doubled to $2 on National Gain Day on 14 January.

The donation will help Dress for Success continue to provide interview attire, accessories, hair and make-up advice, as well as employment and lifestyle tips, to women faced with challenging situations.

Sue Lewis-O'Halloran, Regional Director of New Zealand & Australia Dress for Success Worldwide is extremely grateful to the team at My Special K.

“This extraordinary donation will go towards helping a number of New Zealand women take their first step towards a more positive life as they begin their journey to better futures.

“We couldn’t do what we do without the support of others and we’re so grateful to the team at My Special K for their generous donation,” adds Sue Lewis-O'Halloran.

Kellogg’s NZ Marketing Manager Julian Ng says the campaign has been an extremely worthwhile experience.

“Not only has Declare Your Gain spread the power of positivity but it is also very rewarding to know the money raised will help many more New Zealand women overcome their obstacles to achieve happiness.”

The $10,000 donation will help Dress for Success to continue empowering New Zealand women in all areas of life.
