A local NZ IT Integration company has joined forces with popular pizza outlet Domino's Pizza to raise money for child-focussed charity CureKids.

Software development and solutions agency The Simpl Group secured more than $1,600 for CureKids, with the assistance of Dominos who provided a hot pizza dinner at a recent fundraising event.

CureKids focuses on finding the funds for vital medical research that improves and prolongs the lives of Kiwi children living with a life threatening illness, whilst they go for the ultimate goal of finding a cure.

Domino's donated 18 pizzas and other tasty goodies at The Simpl Group's quiz night in Takapuna on the on North Shore.

The event also helped the IT company to achieve its goal of making the $10,000 needed for them to enter Cure Kids' recent Great Adventure Race in April, which raises money for medical research.

Four people from The Simpl Group recently completed the six to nine hour race, which involved traversing about 40km of off-road trails, running and cycling through the Hunua Ranges, southeast of Auckland.

Cure Kids CEO, Vicki Lee, praises The Simpl Group's commitment to enlist the help of companies in the community to support their fundraising efforts.

"What a fun way to raise vital funds for child health research. Thanks to Domino's for getting behind our mission to improve the health of children through research and its outcomes, and our thanks to the on-going support of The Simpl Group," she says.

"We never know which dollar could find the cure, and every dollar helps."

The spokesperson for The Simpl Group, Nicola Brock, says the complimentary pizza dinner at the quiz night ensured that every dollar raised could go directly towards CureKids.

"Our partnership with Domino's for this special evening was hugely rewarding, as it meant that we didn't have food costs to take out of our budget. What this means is that all of the funds raised will go directly into investing in a more optimistic future for Kiwi kids," she says.

The General Manager for Domino's New Zealand, Josh Kilimnik, says he was delighted to have been approached by The Simpl Group to sponsor the event.

"We didn't hesitate to take The Simpl Group up on its offer to contribute, and express our own support for children struggling with life-threatening illnesses. CureKids is a charity which is close to many of our hearts, so being involved in such a fundraiser is hugely gratifying for us," he says.

The quiz evening, which saw participants pay $20 for a ticket, was the top earning fundraising event hosted by The Simpl Group to raise the entry fee for CureKids' Great Adventure Race on April 20.

This year's Great Adventure Race raised more than $300,000 for child health research in areas such as leukaemia and other childhood cancers, rheumatic heart disease, sudden unexpected death in infants (SUDI), and other neurological, genetic and respiratory illnesses affecting children.
