Rarotonga Triathlon Saturday 2nd May Sponsored Accommodation available

The annual Air New Zealand Rarotonga Triathlon is scheduled for Saturday 2nd May. This year the Edgewater Resort one of Rarotonga’s leading tourist resorts along with 2 smaller resorts have made available 14 free accommodations on a twin share basis for visiting triathletes. The Edgewater units offered will be the highest room grade available.

The Cook Islands Triathlon Association will allocate the accommodation units on a draw basis to athletes who notify their firm intention to visit and enter the race by 7 pm on 8 March 2009 NZ date. The Triathlon Association will entertain applications on the basis of up to groups of 4 applying which will give 4 entries to the draw and if successful, a second room at the concessional rate of $185 per night is available from Edgewater Resort and if averaged amongst a party of four will equate to just $45 per night per person. Separately, Edgewater Resort will make available some 3 Bedroom Garden Villas at $380 per night which take up to 6 persons (just $63 per night pp). In addition $100 of food & beverage will be credited to each triathlon room account by Edgewater Resort

The Edgewater Resort is a classy resort in the tourist destination of Rarotonga. It is one of the big three resorts and is located lagoonside. Attached is the race Entry Form and Race Information Sheet. There are 3 events over the 5 day triathlon festival – an 800 metre sea swim 2 days before the tri, a standard distance triathlon and a 31 km around the island cycle 3 days after the tri.
