Australian women are becoming increasingly fed up with men ‘too’ in touch with their feminine side and are demanding a resurgence of manliness, according to new research exploring female perceptions of masculinity.

Women appear to be rejecting metrosexual behaviors like waxing, fake tans and cosmetic surgery in favour of more traditional masculine values.

“Muscles, beards and brawn are back, but experts say today’s woman is looking for a more balanced man – the next evolution of masculinity,” says Nige 54, a dating coach and author of Around The World In 80 Babes. “They want a guy who’s in touch with his feelings without wearing them on his sleeve. He’s still sensitive, but he’s macho at the same time.”

Once again man has adapted to feminine needs, with sociological reports from across the globe suggesting the dawn of new man has arrived. Sociologists say the NEOSEXUAL is a new type of man that has regained his masculinity by going back to his primitive roots. It’s an evolved masculinity that takes the most valuable elements of masculinity as it progressed from pre-historic times.

The Neosexual takes care of himself without going to extremes. He’s confident but not egotistical. He tries to understand women, not be like them. He’s decisive and when he sees something he likes he goes for it without hesitation.

An independent study of 2,800 women aged 18-34 from Australia and 13 other countries commissioned by LYNX has revealed…
- 75% say sharing their beauty products or clothes with a man is a major turn off
- 60% say they don’t like when a guy takes longer to get ready than they do
- 90% say they don’t want to be asked out by text or email – they prefer a more traditional, personal approach
- 81% say they want their guy to be sensitive without losing his masculinity

LYNX commissioned the study in support of its commitment to giving guys the crucial intelligence they need to gain the edge in the mating game. LYNX has also released a new fragrance for the new man. LYNX Instinct features elements of leather, a timeless icon of virility and sex appeal.
