New Zealand’s largest online outdoor and adventure retailer, Torpedo7, celebrates its tenth birthday this month with one of its biggest ever site-wide sales, which runs until 24 March.

From humble beginnings as an online bike store, Torpedo7 has seen exponential growth in the last ten years into new categories, including Snow, Moto, Outdoor, Fishing, Watersports and Fitness and now stocks more than 700 brands and over 11,000 products.

Chief Operating Officer for Torpedo7, Aaron Greene says innovation is the fundamental principle the business was founded on ten years ago and continues to be at the heart of what Torpedo7 stands for today.

“The combination of an advanced e-commerce platform with an extensive range of leading brands means we can kit out Kiwis with the best adventure and action sports gear at competitive prices - no matter what outdoor activity they’re into.

“As e-commerce pioneers, we are constantly refining our online ordering and freighting process to make it as simple and fast as possible to keep our customers coming back for more,” says Mr Greene.

In 2011 the business won the Deloitte Fast 50, confirming it as the fastest growing business and fastest growing exporter, which now employs over 200 people – but the growth didn’t stop there.

Last year a majority share in Torpedo7 Group was acquired by New Zealand’s biggest non-food retailer, The Warehouse Group (TW Group), which has a strategic business priority of becoming New Zealand’s leading MultiChannel retailer.

TW Group CEO, Mark Powell says: “As Torpedo7 reaches its milestone tenth birthday, we have exciting plans ahead targeting significant growth and we see enormous potential for further innovation and diversification.”

“We know how passionate Kiwis are about the outdoors, so to celebrate turning ten, we’re awarding our customers with incredible deals, ranging from mountain biking gear to wakeboarding, snowboarding and fishing equipment - and everything in between,” says Mr Powell.

The site wide sale at www.torpedo7.co.nz has huge reductions on products across all categories, including:
