The 4th EDF Alpe d’Huez Triathlon will take place from 28 – 30 July. The program includes three distances: - long distance race (2.2km swimming, 115km cycling, 20km running) - short distance race (1.2km swimming, 30km cycling, 7km running) - children’s triathlon.

This unique event has been carried out by the former long course world champion Cyrille Neveu since 2006. It is now co-organised by IMG and aims at becoming a worldwide reference among the tough races. Initially l’Alpe d’Huez was Cyrille’s training camp and now hosts some of the best triathletes in the world.

Chrissie Wellington, twice winner of the Alpe d’Huez long distance race has always been very complimentary about the race, the venue and the organisation: “I love taking part in events where there is a beautiful scenery. I cannot think of another race like the Alpe d’Huez triathlon.”

The Alpe d’Huez ski resort is well known around the world as the Tour de France stops there every year or so. Its 21 mythical curves are part of the Tour de France legend and make the EDF Alpe d’Huez triathlon very special and really tough… That’s why the long course represents a real challenge and the short distance a very good preparation for other triathlons.

The main partner, EDF, gives participants the chance to swim in the Verney lake crystal waters as it closes the barrage only end of July for the event.
Surrounded by the mountains, the Alpe d’Huez resort is also the perfect place to breathe fresh air and stay for some holidays with friends and families.
