Auckland based t-shirt website www.closet.co.nz has commissioned a group of Haiti Relief Fund t-shirts with all the proceeds going to Oxfam’s Haitian Relief Fund.

The tees have been designed by 4 of New Zealand’s top graphic designers - Kelvin Soh and Simon Oosterdijk (The Wilderness & Pie Paper), Simon Chesterman (Team Uniform & Consortium), and Sarah Larnach; designer of the award winning album artwork for Ladyhawke’s debut album. Sarah's involvement is particularly significant as she has been personally affected by the tragedy in Haiti with the loss of her two nieces and brother-in-law. Throughout this difficult time Sarah has been active in fundraising and has kindly contributed one of her unique designs to the project.Closet director Dave Gibson says “we just had to act, in the face of such hopelessness you’ve got to at least try. I got on the phone and before I knew it we had Gildan giving us a huge discount’s on tees for the project, with Embroidery Works & Courier Post also being incredibly generous and donating the cost of postage for the first 1000 t-shirts. It was really encouraging to have people get behind the idea so quickly.”Tees can be pre-ordered now at www.closet.co.nz for $19.95, with all the profits from each shirt going to the Oxfam Haiti Relief Fund. Closet aims to raise $100,000 toward the cause but we need your help. Please tweet, facebook or blog about this to help spread the word.
