Great photographs are the icing on the wedding cake, the perfect reminder of the beautiful memories made on your special day – memories, which few words can describe.

New Zealand photographer, Jessica Higueras of Jessica Photography ensures her images do the talking for you.

With her passion and dedication to photography, Jessica is already making a name for herself as one of New Zealand’s top up-and-coming photographers.

Specialising in wedding photography, Jessica’s innate talents were officially recognized when she won a Kodak silver merit award in 2006, the year she started her business.

A reflection of her dedication to originality, beauty and perfection, Jessica has won awards every year since, including four Kodak gold awards in 2009 – one of which recognised the stunning photographs she took of a wedding in her hometown of Lima, Peru.

With more couples opting to marry abroad, particularly in the Pacific Islands, commissioning a New Zealand photographer means they get the photographs they want.

Having travelled extensively and covered many weddings overseas in Peru, Fiji and Europe, Jessica prides herself on her ability to find the best location for her photographs.

Blessed with an innate creative flair, Jessica has a unique way of capturing each feeling and expression that is shared on a wedding day.

“I customize each wedding, aiming for spontaneous, natural images that capture a look, a turn of the head, a smile and most importantly, a connection between the couple,” she says.

Clients warm to her enthusiastic personality, quickly appreciating her willingness to listen to their ideas without compromising her own creativity.

For Jessica the most rewarding part of her job is seeing her clients relive each special moment of their wedding day when they look through their photographs.

“Couples spend lot of time planning their special day and I take great care to capture all that is happening – even the small details deserve special attention because it’s these things that make up a truly perfect day,” says Jessica.

Born in Lima, Peru, Jessica crossed the continents to settle in New Zealand where she studied photography with Mel Phillips School of Photography.

Graduating with honours, her commitment and passion for photography continues to be rewarded and she has since won a prestigious scholarship to LA from the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography.

Possessing a genuine love for photography, Jessica’s career has grown in leaps and bounds - from once having to rent cameras to photograph weddings, she has shown the commitment and drive necessary in establishing her own photography company, which continues to receive rave reviews.
