Bio-Oil® Celebrates International Midwives Day With Study Grant Launch

Bio-Oil® is celebrating the International Day of the Midwife by giving New Zealand midwives and nurses the opportunity to seize a $4000 professional development grant.

Like Bio-Oil®, midwives and nurses recognise the importance of proper post-natal care as part of the transition from pregnancy to motherhood. Midwives and nurses play a critical role in providing new mothers with the emotional and clinical support they need following natural and caesarean births, with clear benefits to the mental and physical recovery of both mother and baby.

To assist midwives and nurses in progression of post-natal care practice, Bio-Oil® is launching the inaugural Bio-Oil® Post-Natal Care Grant. With a focus, dedicated to the development of post-natal practice in New Zealand, the winning recipient will receive $4000 toward study and course-related expenses.

From today, New Zealand registered midwives and nurses can apply by submitting a 500 word (or less) paper on how they would utilise the grant. Entries close 5.00 pm on Friday, 13 August 2010 with the winner announcement taking place at the NZ Midwifery Conference in Rotorua (3-5 September 2010).
