2XU, Australia’s fastest growing high performance athletic apparel brand, is delighted to welcome New Zealand’s widely celebrated ironman triathlete, Cameron Brown, to its enviable portfolio of elite Brand Ambassadors. Under the exclusive new Agreement, Brown will train, race and recover in 2XU’s high performance apparel through to May 2013.

A nine-time winner of the New Zealand Ironman and New Zealand Half Ironman, Brown is one of the country’s most treasured elite athletes; regarded by many as ‘Triathlon Royalty’. Impressive race results haven’t been isolated to Kiwi soil either. To date, Brown has 10 Ironman wins, 25 podium finishes from 30 Ironman races, including four at the World Championships in Kona, Hawaii; second in 2001 and 2005 and third in 2002 and 2003. In 2006, Brown was crowned European Ironman Champion.
Since his professional career launched in 1990, Brown has earned an enviable reputation on the Ironman circuit; not only for his consistently impressive results, but humble nature, professional conduct and respect for the triathlon code.

“We’re thrilled to have Cameron on board,” said 2XU Co-Founder/Director of Product Development Jamie Hunt.

“As a brand driven by an endless pursuit for excellence in performance athletic apparel, partnership with Cameron, one of the finest Ironman Triathletes in the world, makes perfect sense.”

“With his acute appreciation for reliable, innovative sporting apparel, Cameron represents a model 2XU Ambassador. We only wish our relationship had started earlier!”

Brown is equally pleased with the new partnership.

“I have been a fan of 2XU for some time, so this new sporting partnership was an easy choice for me,” said Brown.

“The rigorous demands of ironman triathlon require me to be armed with performance apparel which not only offers an edge on the competition, but promises to last the distance of long, intense training sessions. With 2XU on my side, I’m heading into the summer 2010/2011 season more confident than ever.”

In addition to the hectic demands of his life as a professional athlete, 37 year old Brown is the proud husband to wife Jenny and father of two; Braeden (eight) and Joshua (six).

“Balance is critical to achieving success in life; both on and off the course,” said Brown.

“Without the support of my family, friends and reliable, responsive sponsors like 2XU, realizing my goals wouldn’t be possible.”
