Terenzo Bozzone and Sam Warriner won their respective events at the
'Eagleman 70.3' Half Ironman, based in Cambridge, Maryland.

The two took very different paths to the podium however, Terenzo finally
hiting the front with around 6 miles to go of the run, after being down by
almost 4 minutes at one point on the bike.

Sam left nothing to chance, the Whangarei 2 x Olympian led the swim by a
handful of seconds from Michellie Jones (Aus - Multiple World Champion and
winner of over 200 Triathlons). Sam extended her lead out to 2 minutes
and 11 seconds after the bike, with Samantha McGlone (USA) and Natasha
Badmann (6 x Hawaii Ironman World Champion) the only athletes that could
keep her within striking distance.

Pushing it even harder onto the run, Sam finally finished 3.11 secs in
front of Sam McGlone(USA).

In the men's, once Terenzo had disposed of early run leader Andrew Yoder
(USA - who'd built up a 4 minute lead from the bike), all Terenzo had to
contend with was the 90+ degrees heat that stopped many athletes in their
tracks, but not the two flying Kiwis who made it a win/win for the black
lycra in Maryland.

Men's result:

1st Terenzo Bozone,
2nd James Cotter (USA)
3rd Andrew Yoder (USA)

Women's result:
