Cycling SA will bring a new set of races to Adelaide’s roads in January during the 2011 Santos Tour Down Under.

Cycling SA will host four events during the Santos Tour Down Under, including a new elite women’s race - the Rendition Homes Santos Women’s Cup.

“We are hoping to get the biggest names in women’s cycling to South Australia for the women’s cup and at this time we can confirm Amber Halliday, Rachel Neylan and Alexis Rhodes”, says Max Stevens, Cycling SA Executive.

“This is going to be a class event and a classic field will be assembled. Interest from interstate teams and competition is high.”

Santos Tour Down Under Race Director, Mike Turtur, says the Cycling SA races are a great way for elite and recreational cyclists to feel the rush of the event first hand.

“Not many professional sporting events give people the opportunity to participate like the Santos Tour Down Under does”, says Mike Turtur.

“The Cycling SA races are another great way that people can enhance their experience of the tour, coming from behind the sidelines to ride the roads of Adelaide.”

The Cycling SA events to be held in January 2011 are:
Rendition Homes- Santos Women’s Cup Sunday 16 January – Monday 17 January
Sponsored by Santos and Rendition Homes, this race is for elite female cyclists, testing their cycling ability with two stages around the city’s East End and Victoria Park.
